OAKLAND PARK, FL, July 2026: A woman died and a man was injured following a two-vehicle Oakland Park fatal crash on Wednesday evening, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
At approximately 6:35 p.m., deputies and Oakland Park Fire Rescue personnel responded to the collision. The crash occurred shortly thereafter at the intersection of Northwest 44th Street and Northwest 31st Avenue.
Investigators reported that two vehicles were involved, with one person in each vehicle. The woman driving one of the vehicles died at the scene. Authorities had not publicly released her identity as of the latest report.
Meanwhile, the male driver of the second vehicle sustained injuries, and emergency responders took him to Broward Health Medical Center for treatment. However, officials did not immediately provide additional details about the nature or severity of his injuries.
Detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision. However, authorities have not disclosed what caused the vehicles to collide or whether speed, impairment, or another factor may have contributed.
The investigation remains ongoing.
