OVIEDO, FL – February, 2026 – A 45-year-old man from Deltona was hurt Thursday afternoon after his SUV crashed, rolled over, and was hit by a semitruck on State Road 417 near Oviedo, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The two-vehicle collision occurred at about 4:10 p.m. on southbound S.R. 417 near the Red Bug Lake Road area.
Troopers said the man was driving a 2015 Lincoln Navigator southbound on S.R. 417, just past Red Bug Lake Road, traveling in the inside lane.
Investigators reported that the driver drifted onto the left shoulder, where the SUV’s front left side struck a crash attenuator. FHP said the vehicle then flipped over, moved across the southbound lanes, and was subsequently struck by a tractor-trailer.
FHP said the Deltona driver was transported to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
The tractor-trailer driver, a 68-year-old man from Titusville, was unhurt and remained at the scene, troopers said.
Southbound S.R. 417 was shut down for several hours but later reopened.
The incident is still under investigation.
