According to court documents, Marida Guerrero sat near an overhead compartment when a “large and heavy piece of luggage containing electronics” fell during landing and struck her head and shoulders. The flight attendants confirmed they had closed all overhead bins before takeoff, and the flight crew reported no unusual turbulence. Despite these measures, Guerrero claims the airline neglected to maintain the bin and failed to correct the defect that led to her injury.
