FLORIDA – January, 2025 – A horrifying incident occurred on Interstate 95 early Sunday morning. A driver traveling the wrong way collided head-on with a semi-truck. This I-95 wrong way crash resulted in two individuals being hospitalized. It prompted law enforcement to investigate the unusual aftermath.
The accident took place just before 2 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-95 close to Titusville. As reported by the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), a Toyota Corolla was speeding southbound directly into oncoming traffic. It struck a semi-truck.
The force of the collision in the I-95 wrong way crash caused the semi to veer off the roadway onto the grassy shoulder. Meanwhile, the Corolla spun out of control. It ultimately hit a guardrail and came to a stop on the side of the highway.
Upon the arrival of troopers to evaluate the scene, they encountered an unusual twist. The authorities did not find the 32-year-old driver of the Corolla inside the vehicle. They later discovered him lying in the bushes nearby.
Both the driver and his 23-year-old passenger sustained serious injuries. They were quickly transported to a local hospital for medical care. Fortunately, the driver of the semi-truck emerged from the crash unscathed.
Troopers have indicated that charges are pending against the Corolla driver as the investigation is ongoing.
